After a very exciting first gig at the Baiser Salé in Paris on the 24th April (thanks to all those who came listening to us) we spent a day at Sextan Studios in Malakoff (France) were we recorded our new repertoire. The session was recorded by Nicolas David. It will be mixed and mastered by Katsuhiko Naito at Avatar Studios in New York and it is scheduled for release in September 2012 on the PJU label.
We are happy to announce two new releases on the Paris Jazz Underground label:
- Karl Jannuska’s ‘The Halfway Tree’ (PJU009) featuring Karl Jannuska on drums, Sienna Dahlen on vocals, Olivier Zanot on alto saxophone, Nicolas Kummert on tenor sax, Pierre Perchaud on guitars, Tony Paeleman on piano and Fender Rhodes and Andrew Downing on 5 string cello. ‘The Halfway Tree’ was recorded by Nicolas David at Studio Sextan in Malakoff (France) and mixed and mastered by David Travers Smith at Found Sound in Toronto, (Canada). ‘The Halfway Tree’ was awarded a CHOC on the May 2012 edition of JazzMan/JazzMag.
- Romain Pilon’s NY3 (PJU008) featuring Romain Pilon on guitar, Matt Brewer on bass and Colin Stranahan on drums. NY3 was recorded, mixed and mastered in New York by Michael Perez Cisneros.
